A Competent Person designated by the Director General & Chief Inspector, Dock Safety, witnesses and signs every test certificate we issue. We test each product in our Government Approved Test House, rated to 250 tonnes, and stamp it with its distinguishing number and the EEK mark. The certificate traces the product back to that test; any certificate can be verified via Verify a test certificate.

At EEK's Kamani Works in Mumbai, we operate five hydraulic splicing presses, with capacities of 150, 500, 500, 1,000 and 3,000 tonnes, capable of splicing wire rope up to 90 mm in diameter. Every test certificate is witnessed by a Competent Person, and carries full traceability.

E. E. Karachiwala & Co. was founded in Bombay in 1910. We stock Usha Martin wire rope and branded lifting hardware, and we manufacture wire rope slings, hooks, crane blocks and shackles at our Kamani Works. Four generations of the family have run the firm.
We select the rope construction and the end fittings for each sling to suit the load, the hitch and the working environment. We MIG-weld every attachment in-house. Every assembly is proof-tested before it leaves the works.

What procurement asks first.
Does every product you manufacture come with a test certificate?
Yes. Every product we make is tested in our in-house Government Approved Test House (capacity up to 250 t) before it leaves the Kamani Works, stamped, and issued with a test certificate witnessed and signed by a Competent Person designated under Dock Safety.
Can I check a certificate you issued?
Yes. Scan the QR code printed on it, or email or WhatsApp the certificate number to us; we check it against our test-house records and confirm on the same channel.
Which standards do your products meet?
We make to IS 2760 (chain slings), IS 3815, IS 15560 and BS 3017 (hooks), IS 6132 (shackles), IS 3121 (turnbuckles), IS 4190 (eye bolts) and IS 2315 (thimbles). We stock to RR-C-271 (Green Pin and Crosby shackles) and BS EN 1492 (webbing slings). Each product page names its standard and links the datasheet.
Which brands do you stock?
Usha Martin wire rope (authorised distributor since the 1960s), Crosby and Van Beest / Green Pin hardware as Channel Partner, Slingset and Global webbing slings, Tufropes PP rope, Powerfull chain pulley blocks, V-TAL lever hoists and Usha Lubes lubricants, alongside EEK-made slings, hooks and shackles.
What size range can you supply?
EEK-made slings from 3 mm 6×19 up to 36 mm and above in Usha Martin Powerform, spliced up to 90 mm on five presses from 150 t to 3,000 t. We supply wire rope from 1 mm to 90 mm (Usha Martin from 3 mm); bigger slings are made to special order.
